Still Waiting

Well I just thought I would write because it has been a while. We are still waiting for Majenta to come and join us. So far I don't have any contractions or braxton hicks. I feel pretty normal. So we shall see when she will feel like coming out. I am going to the doctor every week now. We have packed our stuff that we need for the hospital. I just need to put it all in the car. I am going camping with my friends this weekend because it is suppose to be nice. The place we are going to be is closer to the hospital than my house so I am not worried if I go into labor over there. It will be fun to go out with my friends one last time without having to worry about a baby. I know it is going to be a big change in my life which I am excited for. So we will try and keep you posted. I am sure I will put something up right away when she is born because we are just so excited. Thank you everyone for your support and comments for me being a new mom.

Your Fourth Baby Shower

This was your last baby shower so now we are making sure we have everything and just waiting for little Majenta to arrive. This is me on my way to the baby shower along with Ruben and Lucciano. We are all excited for her arrival.

Your Grandma Josephine, Tia Vanessa, and Tia Carla put this baby shower together up in Portland, Oregon. They sent out the invitations and decorated Grandma Josephine's house really pretty for you baby shower. I got some pictures. They prepared the food and Zoila brought the cake it was very good it was vanilla with raspberry inside. We played games. The first game of course Don't say baby like the other baby showers. The second game you had to drop a coin into a small cup which was really hard. Judi your Grandma's friend won. The third game you had to try and throw small metal coins into a frogs mouth. Tia Carla won she actually gon one in the frog's mouth which was very hard. The fourht game was find out how big I was and one of your Grandma's friends won that one she was right on. Then we had cake and opened presents. You got your stroller and car seat from Grandma Josephine, Tia Carla, and Tia Vanessa. You got a lot of cloths, blankets, and toys. Your broher gave you an outfit that says " I am the little sister " and he got a shirt that says " I am the big brother" with a picture frame. We are planning on getting a pictures of you two and put it in the picture frame

Henna Belly

I went to a belly dancing event the other weekend so I had a local henna artist draw on my belly and hand so I could show off at the event so here are some pictures.

8 Months Pregnant

As you can see I have been slacking off a bit on the blog. But here I am back and ready to be more informative about what is going with the Barberan Family. I am working on scanning the last pictures of our baby's ultrasounds. I might be able to figure out how to put the quick video that they gave me of her moving. Also we had some 3D ultrasound pictures taken so I need to scan those in also. To catch up on what is going on with us right now is no real news. Ruben is still working on Crazy Fuego our Web and Graphic Design company which is going well. I am still working and will up until the day I have the baby because I have been feeling fine so there is no reason for me to be at home right now. I have put together everything for the baby room the only thing we need left is the stroller and car seat but Grandma Kathie said that she was going to get that for us. I think I have un-officially found the name for our baby girl. Let me know what you think Majenta (yes, like the color but spelled different) Isabella Barberan and I was thinking Jenna for a nick name. I thought it was cute. Lucciano is excited for the baby to come he is going to be a big help when the baby comes. He will be 6 June 8th and he keeps saying after his birthday he is going to have a baby sister. We added another member to our family a month or so ago to give our chihuahua Spike someone to play with her name is Ella she is another chihuahua. They have a blast playing together.

Mom had another doctor appointment today. I am starting to go every two weeks now. I am about 31 weeks so I only have a couple months to go. You are kicking all of the time. Dad is excited for you to come out so is your brother Lucciano. He can't wait until after his birthday June 8th because he knows that you are going to be born after that. I started putting together a scrap book today for you and your brother. I always thought it was fun to look back at my baby stuff that my mom put together for me. Your Second Baby Shower

This baby shower was for all of Mom's friends and co-workers in Salem, OR. It was actually really funny about the date that I chose for our baby shower. My friend and co-worker Malissa Feregrino wanted to put my baby shower together. I picked this weekend and made sure that there was nothing happening on that day before we set the date. I told her March 29th and so we sent out the invitations. As soon as I had done that I was talking on the phone with my friend Angie Perry about the baby shower. She sked how work was going and I told her fine. She asked if I was doing any traveling any time soon for work because I do that sometimes to go and train dental fofices. I said actually I am leaving for Syracuse, New York on Thurs. March 27th and then it hit me. I was going to be flying back to Salem from New York on the day of my baby shower. I was great planning on my part. I did not want to send out another inviation saying it is on a different day because then I believe people would get confused. I found out that I would be flying into Portland at 2:50pm on that day. My baby shower was scheduled at 4:00pm. It is about a 45-60 minute drive from the airport to Salem. I decided that i would be fine. Son the day of my baby shower I had been traveling for about 12 hours then drove and hour to my friend Malissa's house and had the baby shower. It was fine I was not tired until later. That is the story about how the baby shower came together.

Day of Baby Shower

My friend Malissa made tamales for everyone because she loves to cook and she made a HUGE bowl of guacomole that was wonderful we had the baby shower a her house. My friend and co-worker Natalie Brandt did the games. We played "Don't say baby", Baby Pictionary, How big is she?, How many girl baby names can you make out of Ruben and Debbie or Deborah. Grandma Josephine was not able to come because she was sick but she want to throw you a baby shower in Portland anyway for her friends. Yes, your are going to have 3-4 baby showers crazy huh. I thought it made sense to do it that way because of were everyone is would make it easier for them and I don't mind. I asked everyone to bring gift cards so that I could put them all together to get the big things I needed like the stroller or the pack n play. You got:

5 Month Pregnant

Well just an update. I am starting at my fifth month to take monthly pictures of my belly to put pictures in a frame for a time line. Here is my 5 month picture. I am going to get my ultrasound this Friday Feb. 15th in the morning so we hope to find out if it is a boy or a girl. We are very excited.

Your First Baby Shower

This was my first baby shower for you and it was also my 28th birthday. I was around 4 months pregnant. I was not showing very much. We thought it would be nice to have a baby shower with everyone in the family that was pregnant at the time in Puyallup, Washington at Grandma Kathies's house. We live in Salem, Oregon and your Dad stayed home because he had Lucciano that weekend and they wanted to have a guy weekend. We had a lot of girls that were pregnant at once. Your Aunt Taylor ( 8 months having a boy ), Aunt Jessica ( 5 months pregnant having a girl ), Aunt Karen ( 4 months having a girl ) and I ( 4 months having unknown at this point ). Aunt Jessica was not able to come because she lived in Tucson, Arizona and she wanted to save the trip to come and see you and me later in Salem, Oregon. She helped with putting everything together though. She sent instructions for all the games and made the party invitations and party favors. She then sent them all to your Aunt Katie who hosted the baby shower.

Morning of Baby Shower

We woke up and your Aunt Taylor, cousin Rylie Ray, Aunt Katie, Grandma Kathie, and I went to this little craft mall that they have a little eatery that have tea parties with little sandwiches, tea, and desserts. Grandma Kathie thought it would be fun to go and have a tea party before the baby shower. Aunt Karen had to work so she could not go. So we all had some sandwiches, apple cider, and some soup which were really good. It was a lot of fun then we walked around the craft mall to look at all the crafty stuff. It was a nice little outing. Then we went to the store to pick up everything we needed for the baby shower and started preparing for the afternoon.

Afternoon of Baby Shower

Grandma Kathie got your Mom a chocolate fountain for the party, which she took home with her after. We were able to dip fruit in the chocolate fountian, which was fun. We also had other things to eat. Everyone that was there were family. It was:

One of my friends Ashley ( Aunt Taylor's Sister ) gave you a wiggle worm floor toy that had stuff hanging above so you could play with them.

Aunt Taylor and Uncle Jeremy : baby sling white and green

Grandma Kathie : Car toy to entertain you in the car but also the chocolate fountain and a gift card. She also gave Mom a sewing machine for her birthday. She was really excited about that.

Then everyone left and I stayed at Grandma Kathie's till the next day and then drove home.

Majenta Update

Ok so today I had my first Dr. appointment and we are thinking that I am about 16 weeks. So we go through the medical questions and then we get to the part where they try to hear the baby's heartbeat. So they tried for about 10 mins with no luck. So they said they want me to have an ultrasound to make sure I am as far along as we thought. They get me an appointment later in the afternoon. So Ruben, Lucciano, and I go and they start with the ultrasound asking me when my due date is. I told them May 14th. Then she starts to do the ultrasound and she says "Did you know that your do date is like way off?" She told me that I am 9 weeks 5 days pregnant. Well that was a little surprise but fine. That explains why they could not find the heartbeat in the office. So these are the new Facts. My new due date is June 29th so I changed my little spinning baby on my blog to 9 weeks. So we are excited still because we are still pregnant and because we got our first picture of our baby. During the ultrasound we could see our baby wiggling around it was soooo cool. The other cool thing is that now they have the 3D ultrasounds and I asked if my insurance would cover one and they said no they wont but that they give that complimentary when I come in for my 24 weeks ultrasound. I was so excited. I can't wait to see our 3D Baby. Anyway so that is the newest news. I will keep you updated on our progress.

3 weeks Pregnant

We have confirmed that we are officially having you. We found out we are pregnant and are both very excited. We have not told your brother Lucciano yet but we will this weekend when he comes over. We have been waiting for this day to have you in our life. We started trying to get pregnant April 2007. Dad already makes sure that I eat healthy and put on a coat before I leave the house. So far I have had no real symptoms of being pregnant except when I am belly dancing and I spin I get a little dizzy which normallly I would not. Other than that I think your Dad is having more symptoms than me. He has felt nausous a couple weeks ago and it is hard for him to eat some foods that he use to like. When he started having these feelings he knew for sure I was pregnant and he wanted me to take a pregnancy test. So I am excited for the journey you and I are going to take and I can't wait to see you at the end of this journey to start a whole new life together. We love you so very much.
